# Dermal Filler Therapy -Medical Introduction & Treatment Protocol

Dermal fillers are injectable, biocompatible gel-like substances used to restore lost volume, smooth facial lines, contour features, and rejuvenate the skin. Most commonly composed of hyaluronic acid (HA) or collagen biostimulators (e.g., calcium hydroxylapatite, poly-L-lactic acid), fillers work by replenishing subcutaneous volume and stimulating collagen production.

Dermal fillers are indicated for the non-surgical treatment of:

  • Volume loss in the midface, cheeks, temples
  • Nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • Lips (augmentation or hydration)
  • Jawline and chin enhancement
  • Under-eye hollows (tear troughs)
  • Non-surgical rhinoplasty
